1. Purpose
The purpose of these Terms of Use is to govern the use of the Rephrase.fr website and of the AI text humanization service ("the Service") published by Beva Agency.
2. Acceptance
Use of the Service implies full and unreserved acceptance of these Terms of Use. Any user who does not accept them must refrain from using the Service.
3. Access to the service
Access to the Service requires the creation of an account. The user must be at least 15 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a contract.
4. Account creation
The user creates their account via a magic link sent by email or via Google OAuth. The user is responsible for keeping their access credentials confidential.
5. Permitted and prohibited uses
The user is solely responsible for how they use the texts humanized through the Service. Rephrase cannot be held liable for any use that is contrary to the law, to academic ethics or to the terms and conditions of third-party platforms. The following are notably prohibited:
- Using the Service for fraudulent acts, including academic fraud;
- Reproducing or republishing copyrighted content without authorization;
- Mass automation outside the framework provided by the API;
- Any attempt to compromise the security of the Service.
6. Ownership of content
The user retains full and complete ownership of the texts they submit and of the humanized texts generated. Rephrase claims no rights over this content and does not use it for training purposes or share it with third parties, apart from the technical sub-processor OpenAI as part of the generation process.
6.bis Retention and encryption
The texts (input and output) as well as the humanized files (.docx, .pdf, .txt, .md) are kept encrypted at rest with the AES-256-GCM algorithm, so that the user can view them and download them again from their history. The files are stored on a dedicated server volume, separate from the database. The encryption key is never transmitted to third parties. Deleting a humanization from the history results in the permanent and immediate deletion of the encrypted text and the associated file. The user can fully disable retention from their settings; in that case, no text or file is persisted after generation.
7. Service availability
Rephrase strives to keep the Service available 24/7, without however guaranteeing absolute availability. Maintenance interruptions are announced whenever possible.
8. Suspension and termination
In the event of a breach of these Terms of Use, Rephrase may suspend or terminate the user’s account, without notice in the event of a serious breach.
9. Liability
Rephrase implements reasonable means to provide a quality Service. Its liability cannot be engaged for any indirect damage, including any loss of data, revenue or opportunity.
10. Amendment of the Terms of Use
Rephrase may amend these Terms of Use at any time. Substantial changes are communicated by email 15 days before they take effect.
11. Governing law
These Terms of Use are governed by French law. Any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the competent courts.
