Is the extension compatible with Brave, Edge, Opera, Vivaldi, Arc?

Yes. The extension ships through the Chrome Web Store, so it works with any Chromium-based browser: Google Chrome, Brave, Microsoft Edge, Opera, Vivaldi, Arc and other derivatives. Firefox and Safari are not supported for now.

Do you need a Rephrase account to use the extension?

Yes. The extension uses your Rephrase account and your credits. If you do not have an account yet, create one in 30 seconds, no credit card. You can then buy a lifetime credit pack from 3.90 € to humanize.

Does the extension read what I type or the pages I visit?

No. No passive reading: only the text you select and explicitly send through the context menu is sent to the Rephrase API. No tracking, analytics or advertising scripts are bundled in. Full details in our extension privacy policy.

Which Chrome permissions are requested?

Four strictly necessary permissions: contextMenus (to add “Humanize with Rephrase”), storage (to keep your preferences and session key locally), sidePanel (to show the result), identity (for the secure sign-in flow). No “access to all pages” permission is requested.

How do I revoke the extension’s access to my account?

From your API keys dashboard, revoke the key named “Extension Chrome”. You can also just uninstall the extension: the key then stays valid until you revoke it manually. A revocation is immediate and cuts off access without affecting your account or your credits.

How many credits does a humanization from the extension cost?

The same price as on rephrase.fr: one credit for 250 humanized words. Humanizations go through your account and use your existing balance or your active subscription.

It depends on your account preferences. If history is on (the default), humanizations are kept in your dashboard, encrypted with AES-256-GCM on the server, until you delete them. You can turn history off in your settings: in that case nothing is kept once the result comes back.
